Description
The Midge Tiger is a high-performance midge pattern designed to imitate chironomid pupae with an extra strike-triggering edge. Featuring a slender, tapered body with vivid striped ribbing, this fly delivers a natural silhouette with just enough flash to catch the attention of picky trout.
The black or dark thread body is tightly ribbed with silver, red, or pearl wire—giving it the distinctive “tiger” banding that mimics the gas-bubble separation and segmentation seen in real midges. A small bead head adds weight and enhances the pattern’s ability to drop quickly into the feeding zone.
