SQUIRMY WORM TUNGSTEN
$2.25
Squirmy Worm Tungsten offers unmatched movement and sink rate. A top choice for dirty water, high flows, or winter trout. Tungsten bead for fast drops.
Description
The Squirmy Worm Tungsten is one of the most effective attractor flies in modern trout fishing—especially in high or stained water, during runoff, or when targeting lethargic winter fish. Its soft, stretchy body material gives it an irresistible undulating motion that trout simply can’t ignore.
This version is tied with a dense tungsten bead, allowing the fly to sink rapidly and hold bottom even in strong current or deeper pools. That means faster contact with fish and better control in Euro nymph or tight-line presentations.
The squirmy material adds a lifelike wiggle with every twitch, current shift, or rod lift. It mimics aquatic worms, annelids, or washed-in earthworms after rain, making it an easy meal for opportunistic trout. The bright coloration (usually pink, red, or wine) also adds high visibility, making it a standout choice when water clarity is poor.
While purists may scoff, savvy anglers know: this fly produces. Use it as a lead fly in a two-nymph rig, pair it with a small natural dropper, or drop it under a dry for a surprise strike. Whether you’re fishing the San Juan, South Platte, or your local tailwater, the Squirmy Worm Tungsten is a confidence fly that simply works.

I prefer this silicon(?) version versus chenille worms. Get torn up by trout but a very consistent producer so it seems a fair trade.
